Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 2
The Australian Government has approved the selection of 25 successful school clusters to participate in the Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 2.
Values Education Teaching and Learning Activities
Two new co-curricular activities that include ideas, information and suggestions about how schools are implementing the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools outside the formal classroom context are now available for downloading from the website. Written by school-based practitioners of values education, they contain practical activities for teachers to use or adapt in their communities.
Values Education programme brochure
The Values Education programme is not just one project it involves a number of initiatives. A brochure outlining all aspects of the programme is now available for downloading from the website.

States and Territories
In Queensland:
- a second successful State Values Education Conference was held in Townsville on 31 July.
- it’s the last chance to attend a values education workshop for the year, as the final one will be held in the Logan District on 13 October.
- planning is under way for some wine and cheese soirees in the South East Corner and Townsville in Term 4.
In Tasmania:
- Collinsvale Primary School celebrated its diverse enrichment programmes at its Values Education School Forum.
- a number of district-based workshops have been held.
- schools are able to examine the relationship between the ‘core shared values’ in the Western Australian Curriculum Framework and the Values for Australian Schooling through documents available online.

Good Practice Schools

Good Practice Schools – Stage 2 National Briefing Session
The first National Briefing Session for Values Education Good Practice Schools – Stage 2 will be held in Melbourne on 30–31 October 2006.

Parents
A new section of the website devoted to resources and information about values education for parents has been established. It contains information about the project and links to parent partnership programmes.
School Forum Resources
More snapshots of school forums, conducted in Tasmania and Western Australia, have been added to the website.
Teaching and Learning Resources
Two new co-curricular activities containing practical ideas for teachers to use in or adapt to their communities are now available for downloading from the website.
Professional Learning
A new resource has been added to the Professional Learning page:
