Resources
New Values for Australian Schooling resources
New resources focusing on values education in intercultural and global contexts are now available for all schools. They are designed to support primary and secondary schools to foster explicit values learning, inclusiveness, and intercultural understanding. There is also a resource for school leaders to promote values-centred schooling.
The Australian Government funded four new values education resources as part of the Values for Australian Schooling resource series. This latest release from Education Services Australia includes:
- World of Values (website)
- Side by Side (big book)
- Teaching for Intercultural Understanding: Professional Learning Program (PDF)
- Values-centred Schools – A Guide (website)
World of Values, Teaching for Intercultural Understanding: Professional Learning Program and Values-centred Schools – A Guide are all available via the Values Education website. Side by Side has been distributed to primary schools. Additional teaching and learning activities for the book are also available from the Values Education website.
Side by Side was sent to primary schools with a brochure on the resources (including the access key code to World of Values) and a letter from the Minister. The brochure and letter were also sent to secondary schools.
World of Values can be accessed using the same access key code as previously used for, and published in, Building Values Across the Whole School and Supporting Student Wellbeing Through Values Education.
Additional copies of Side by Side can be purchased from Curriculum Press or by searching for ‘Side by Side’ from the main Curriculum Press page.
