VASP – Values in Action Schools ProjectInvitation to schools All schools in Australia, through cluster arrangements, are invited by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to develop a project proposal and apply for grants for the Values in Action Schools Project (VASP). The Values in Action Schools Project is a national project in which clusters of schools are funded to design, implement and evaluate the outcomes of high quality values education projects. Up to 12 focused and targeted action research projects will be selected through a competitive application process and funded to deliver quality findings that provide guidance to all Australian schools on how to effectively use good practice values educational outcomes for the long-term benefit of students, teachers and the whole school community. Funding for the Values in Action Schools Project reflects an ongoing commitment to values education. It is part of the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations 2008-09 National Values Education Program. The Values in Action Schools Project will build on the significant work that has taken place in schools since the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools was sent to all schools in 2005. Applications must be submitted via an online application form on this website. Applications close 14 November 2008. Building Values across the Whole School: A Resource PackageThe Australian Government has funded the publication of Building Values across the Whole School: A Resource Package via this website. Part of the Values for Australian Schooling resource series for Australian schools, the package consists of two components: primary and secondary teaching and learning units and a professional learning program. To access Building Values across the Whole School: A Resource Package from this website you will need the access code key. The access code key has been sent in a letter, to all Australian school principals, which arrived in schools the week commencing 15 October 2007. Australian schools may then download the resource package via the Building Values across the Whole School: A Resource Package page. Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 1: Final ReportThe Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 1 (VEGPSP 1) involved the funding by the Australian Government of 26 clusters of schools from around Australia to design, implement and evaluate quality projects in values education which would reflect and utilise the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools in local contexts. A report of the learnings and outcomes from the project, Implementing the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools: Report of the Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 1, and an executive summary are available for downloading from the website. Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 2The Australian Government approved the selection of 25 successful school clusters to participate in the Values Education Good Practice Schools Project – Stage 2.
